New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- East Zone stormed into the Duleep Trophy semifinals with a commanding innings and 210-run victory over North East Zone at the BCCI Centre ofExcellence Ground 2 in Bengaluru on Tuesday.
The quarterfinal saw East Zone dominate from start to finish after posting 467 in their first innings. North East Zone were bowled out for 111 in their first innings and managed only 146 in the second after being asked to follow on.
Shahbaz Ahmed was the star with the bat, scoring a superb 167, while Anukul Roy finished the contest with a five-wicket haul in the second innings.
East Zone found themselves in trouble at 138/5 after opting to bat, but Shahbaz and Sudip Kumar Gharami turned the innings around with a big partnership. Shahb...
