Dharamshala, May 24 -- In view of the upcoming Panchayati Raj Institutions elections in Kangra district, the administration has imposed a ban on the sale, distribution and consumption of liquor in polling areas to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections.

District Election Officer (Panchayat) and Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Hemraj Bairwa, said the elections for Panchayati Raj Institutions in the district will be held on May 26, 28 and 30, 2026.

Counting of votes for Pradhan, Up-Pradhan and Gram Panchayat members will take place at polling stations, while votes for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will be counted at the respective block headquarters on May 31.
