New Delhi, Aug. 25 -- The BCCI has expanded the remit of its Junior Cricket Committee, making it responsible for educating young cricketers about the dangers of drugs, betting and match-fixing, as the board invited applications for five positions on the panel on Monday.
The new committee, which is expected to be announced at the BCCI's AGM next month, will also oversee the selection and development of age-group teams up to the Under-22 level. Applications for the five posts will be accepted till September 5.
The incoming panel will replace the current committee headed by former Tamil Nadu cricketer S Sharath. The other members of the existing committee are Ranadeb Bose, Harvinder Singh Sodhi, Pathik Patel and Krishen Mohan.
