Shimla, March 20 -- Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday said that the drug menace in Himachal Pradesh did not emerge during the Congress tenure, asserting that the issue has deeper roots predating the last three years.
Replying to concerns raised in the Assembly, the Chief Minister informed the House that strict action is being taken against those involved in drug-related cases. He said 11 police personnel have been suspended, while eight others are under investigation. More than 60 government employees are also currently in jail for their involvement in drug offences.
