Nagpur, Aug. 9 -- : The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has intercepted a train passenger and seized 2.165 kg of gold valued at around Rs 3.09 crore at Nagpur Railway Station, officials said on Sunday.
Acting on specific intelligence regarding the movement of smuggled gold from the India-Bangladesh border through the railway network, a team of DRI officials in Nagpur mounted a surveillance operation at the station.
According to an official statement, the intelligence indicated that the smuggled gold had entered India through the India-Bangladesh border and was being transported to another destination by train.
