DRDO, UoH research centre granted patent for next-generation solid rocket fuel

Hyderabad, Sept. 2 -- The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Advanced Centre of Research in High Energy Materials (ACRHEM), University of Hyderabad (UoH), have been granted an Indian patent for a novel next-generation solid rocket propellant fuel.

The Patent Office, Government of India, granted Patent No. 599900 (Application No. 202211074244) to the Chairman, DRDO, and ACRHEM (presently known as DIA-CoE) at UoH. The patent, filed on December 21, 2022, was granted on August 20, 2026, for the invention titled "N1,N1,N1,N4,N4,N4-hexaethylbut-2-yne-1,4-diaminiumdodecaborane: The Next Generation Solid Rocket Propellant Fuel."The invention was developed by researchers Dr Muddamarri Hanumantha Rao and Prof. Muralidharan ...
