New Delhi, Feb. 23 -- Delhi Congress on Monday alleged that the BJP-led Delhi government has taken away the powers of naming metro corridors and stations from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), a move it claimed would end the autonomy enjoyed by the corporation for the past 24 years.

Addressing a press conference, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav said that instead of expediting the expansion of the Delhi Metro network, the government was focusing on renaming metro corridors and stations. He alleged that such steps would not improve passenger convenience but were aimed at gaining political mileage.
