Mumbai, June 26 -- Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam today informed the Maharashtra Legislative Council that 13 officials from the Excise Department had been suspended in connection of the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad toxic liquor tragedy and said that the process of invoking MCOCA against the main accused was underway.
He made this annoucement with reference to Shiv Sena (Shinde) leader and Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson Dr. Neelam Gorhe's remarks welcoming the Mahayuti government's decision to hand over the investigation into the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad toxic liquor tragedy to the CID, calling it a crucial step towards ensuring an impartial probe.
