Lucknow, May 23 -- The work of door-to-door house listing and household enumeration-marking the first phase of Census 2027 in Uttar Pradesh commenced today.

On the inaugural day itself, enumerators successfully reached over 13.5 million households across the state and assigned them a unique census number. Concurrently, historical and religious sites-including the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the Taj Mahal, and the Jhansi Fort-have also been incorporated into the census enumeration process.
