Bengaluru, July 13 -- In a major move aimed at protecting devotees' offerings and ensuring transparency in temple administration, the Karnataka government is preparing a stringent Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the security of hundis (donation boxes) in temples managed by the Muzrai department.
The new framework will bring tighter monitoring of donation boxes, cash collection and counting procedures, with enhanced surveillance and accountability measures to prevent theft, misuse and irregularities.
