Hyderabad, Sept. 4 -- Telangana Rakshana Sena president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Friday strongly opposed the government's proposal to abolish Intermediate education, stating that the system had played a crucial role in producing engineers and intellectuals from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking at the 'Save Inter Education - Jung Siren' meeting organised by the Intermediate Education JAC at Nampally, Kavitha said Intermediate education was not a problem that needed to be eliminated but a system that should be strengthened further. She warned that abolishing it could disproportionately affect girl students and lead to increased dropout rates.
