Chennai, July 30 -- Coinciding with the proposed meeting of Tamil Nadu Chef Minister Vijay with his Karnataka counterpart in Bengaluru on August three in a bid to find a negotiated settlement to the vexed Mekedatu dam and Cauvery River water issues, the main Opposition DMK on Thursday announced a protest demonstration on that day on the dam row and also to highlight the plight of the farmers in the delta districts.

In a statement here, DMK President and former CM M K Stalin said the agitation would be held at Thanjavur district, the rice bowl of the State on August three and it would be led by Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly Udhayanidhi Stalin.
