Chennai/New Delhi, Aug. 1 -- Hours after the Tamil Nadu government decided to approach the Supreme Court on Monday after Karnataka refused to honour the CWMA order to release waters, the main Opposition DMK on Saturday filed a Miscellaneous plea seeking urgent directions to the neighbouring state to release waters and also impleaded itself in the case.

The petition seeks implementation of the February 16, 2018 Judgment and the enforcement of the directions issued by the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC) and the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA).
