Bengaluru, June 27 -- union Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Saturday accused Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar of executing a "years-long conspiracy" to acquire fertile agricultural land around Bidadi, alleging that a sequence of policy and administrative decisions was designed to facilitate what he termed a massive land grab.

Addressing farmers at Bhyaramangala near Bidadi after the Chief Minister skipped an open discussion that Kumaraswamy had invited him to attend, the union Minister alleged that Shivakumar had been systematically laying the groundwork for the acquisition of thousands of acres of farmland.
