Kolkata, May 29 -- The West Bengal government will deploy Quick Response Teams (QRTs) across the hilly areas of North Bengal as part of its monsoon preparedness and disaster management strategy, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced on Friday.

These QRTs will comprise personnel drawn from multiple state agencies along with members of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to ensure swift response during landslides, flash floods and other monsoon-related emergencies in the hills, Adhikari said after the high-level coordination meeting at the state secretariat Nabanna.
