Mumbai, March 24 -- Hindi-language filmmaker and screenwriter Mani Shankar is set to make a big screen comeback with the sequel to one of the highest-grossing action-thrillers of 2002 titled "16 December".
More than two decades after the release of the movie, filmmaker-engineer Mani is working on a sequel to the espionage thriller, which had earned recognition for its forward-looking depiction of technology. As a true-blue spy film, it set a new bar that Bollywood has since built on. The brilliance of the integration of this as-yet future tech into the story happening on the streets of India made the film one of the top ten grossers of the year.
