New Delhi, April 27 -- Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former union Minister Dinesh Trivedi has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the People's Republic of Bangladesh. He is expected to assume charge shortly.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed the appointment in a press release issued on Monday, stating: "Shri Dinesh Trivedi has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the People's Republic of Bangladesh." He will succeed the current High Commissioner, Pranay Verma.

A veteran politician, Trivedi brings extensive experience in governance and public service. He has previously served as the Railway Minister as well as the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare. After a long polit...
