Mumbai, Aug. 31 -- The HDFC Bank board is likely to consider appointing former State Bank of India (SBI) Chairman Dinesh Kumar Khara as its MD & CEO, to succeed its present HDFC Bank MD & CEO Shashidhar Jagdishan, who has chosen not to seek another term, industry sources said here on Monday.
HDFC Bank had approached Dinesh Khara for a part-time chairman role in March, but Khara had declined the offer.
Meanwhile, Dinesh Khara has denied being approached by HDFC Bank for a second time to be its full-time MD & CEO.
Khara is a veteran banker who served as the Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI) from October 2020 to August 2024, and is known for his decisive leadership as well as successful digital transformation initiatives.
