Chennai, July 22 -- Tamil Nadu Director General of Police (DGP)/Head of Police Force Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal on Wednesday transferred the investigation into the alleged custodial death of remand prisoner Sabari Varman in Nagercoil District Jail from to the Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID).
As the incident sparked political outrage with various parties demanding an explanation from the ruling TVK headed by Chief Minister Vijay and also a CBI probe into it, the investigation was today transferred to the CB-CID.
