Mumbai, Jan. 14 -- Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray raised serious questions over a recent decision of the Election Commission, alleging that it could be interpreted as assistance to ruling parties to turn around a lost election.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Thackeray objected to the Election Commission's decision allowing candidates to meet voters without carrying campaign material a day after the municipal election campaign officially ended. He questioned whether this relaxation was meant to help those in power secure victory despite public discontent.
