Chennai, Aug. 25 -- Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran, whose lone MLA shifted allegiance to the ruling TVK headed by Chief Minister Vijay soon after the election results are out amid horsetrading charges, on Tuesday evening petitioned Tamil Nadu Governor R.V.Arlekar at Raj Bhavan demanding action against what he alleged were attempts to lure MLAs with money and positions by the government.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Dhinakaran, whose party was a partner of the AIADMK-led NDA, alleged that those in power were attempting to lure MLAs from opposition and other parties by offering them posts and financial benefits, describing such practices as against democratic principles.
