Dharamshala, Aug. 2 -- The Rapid Response Team of the Wildlife Wing of the Forest Department rescued 20 Russell's vipers, including an adult female and 19 hatchlings, from the premises of Government Degree College, Dharamshala, and later released them safely into a suitable natural habitat.
According to Divisional Forest Officer (Wildlife) Sanjeev Singh, the college principal informed the department after several snakes were spotted on the campus. Acting promptly, the Rapid Response Team rushed to the site and successfully rescued all the snakes without causing harm to the reptiles or posing any risk to people.
