Hyderabad, April 30 -- Telangana Director General of Police Shivdhar Reddy retired on Thursday, bringing down the curtain on a distinguished 32-year career in policing.

Senior officers accorded him a ceremonial farewell at the RVBR Police Academy.

Addressing the gathering, Shivdhar Reddy reflected on his long journey in the police service, recalling the significant changes in policing from the 1970s and 1980s to the present day. He highlighted the shift towards "friendly policing" aimed at bridging the gap between the police and the public, and said that policing has evolved in line with government policies.
