Ranchi, Oct. 26 -- The spirit of Chhath Mahaparv has reached Jharkhand's prisons, where special arrangements have been made this year for inmates observing the sacred festival.
According to the Jharkhand Prison Department, a total of 56 inmates: 25 women and 31 men, are observing the traditional Chhath fast across various jails in the state. The prison authorities have arranged all essential puja materials and provisions for arghya offerings to the Sun God.
At the Birsa Munda Central Jail in Ranchi, the highest number of devotees, 8 women and 8 men inmates, are participating in the rituals.
Similarly, Dumka Central Jail has 2 women inmates observing the fast, while Hazaribagh's Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Central Jail has 5 women and 7 ...
