Ranchi, Oct. 27 -- On the auspicious occasion of Kartik Chhath, the grand festival of Sun worship, devotees across Jharkhand, including the state capital Ranchi, offered the first Arghyato the setting sun this evening while standing in rivers and ponds.

The ritual marked the third day of the four-day-long festival dedicated to the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya.

In Ranchi, thousands of men and women devotees thronged riverbanks, ponds, and ghats to offer evening prayers to the setting sun with deep devotion and traditional rituals.

The roads leading to various ghats reverberated with melodious devotional songs and bhajans dedicated to Chhathi Maiya and Surya Devta, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere.
