Pune, May 7 -- Dr. Hulgesh Chalwadi, State Vice President of the Republican Party of India (Athawale), on Thursday hailed the directive issued by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that accused persons involved in heinous crimes such as sexual exploitation should not be granted accumulated leave or parole, calling it extremely bold and justified from the social security perspective.
In a statement, he said this decision taken at a cabinet meting, would further strengthen women's safety.
Dr. Chalwadi stated that, in many cases, accused persons in sexual assault cases commit similar crimes again after being released from prison on parole.
