Bengaluru, July 18 -- Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda's wife Chennamma, who passed away in Bengaluru on Saturday, will be laid to rest in her native Haradanahalli village in Hassan district on Monday, union Minister HD Kumaraswamy said.
Speaking to reporters outside Manipal Hospital, Kumaraswamy said the mortal remains would be kept at the family's Padmanabhanagar residence in Bengaluru on Saturday night to enable the public and party workers to pay their last respects.
The body will be taken to Hassan district at around 11 am on Sunday, while the funeral is scheduled for Monday. The exact timing of the last rites will be announced later after consultations with family members.
