Mumbai, May 6 -- Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar-led NCP National President Sunetra Pawar resigned her Rajya Sabha membership today.
Recently, Ms Pawar won the Baramati by-election with a margin of 2,14,093 votes, smashing the record of her late husband and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar in 2019, according to results announced here on Monday by the Maharashtra State Election Commission.
Ms Pawar met Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C P Radhakrishnan and submitted her resignation letter.
She will now represent the constituency as a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA).
According to rules, any person elected to two houses is required to resign from one house within 14 days of getting elected.
