Panchkula, Aug. 14 -- The Department of Posts has revised leave-sanctioning powers for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), decentralising authority for different categories of leave and directing that all admissible leave applications be submitted online.

The order categorically states that no leave will be approved manually.

The order, issued on August 13, follows the revision of the Schedule of Engaging, Disciplinary and Appellate Authorities for GDS in November 2025 and clarifies the authorities competent to sanction leave and approve substitute arrangements.
