Chennai, May 31 -- The Department of Posts introduced a Permanent Pictorial Cancellation at Swamimalai Sub Post Office to commemorate the spiritual and cultural significance of Swamimalai Murugan Temple, one of the revered six abodes of Lord Muruga.
The specially designed Permanent Pictorial Cancellation introduced yesterday prominently features the Tamil letter "Om", symbolising the sacred Pranava Mantra and reflecting the unique spiritual identity of Swamimalai.
The design draws inspiration from the temple legend in which Lord Murugan imparted the meaning of the Pranava Mantra "Om" to Lord Shiva at Swamimalai, a PIB release said.
