Chennai, Oct. 25 -- The Depression over the Bay of Bengal moved at a speed of 10 kmph and iswintensify into a Deep Dpression, then into a Cyclonic storm 'Montha', named derived from Thailand,before crossing the Andhra Pradesh coast on October 28 evening/night after concentrating into aSevere Cyclonic Storm.

As the system was expected to touch Tamil Nadu before entering Andhra Pradesh, heavy rains havebeen predicted for the Northern districts, including Chennai and adjoining districts, and North Interiordistricts for the next three days and the State government has geared up its entire machinery to tacklethe Cyclone fury.
