Depression over Bay intensifies as Cyclonic Storm Arnab, to become Very Severe

Chennai, Oct. 26 -- The Depression over the Bay has concentrated into a Deep Depression and further intensified as a Cyclonic Storm 'Arnab' on Monday morning, even as several parts of Tamil Nadu, especially the Western Ghat, south coastal, northern and interior districts received heavy.

It would further intensify into Severe Cyclonic Storm by midnight today and then into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm tomorrow, before crossing the Andhra Pradesh coast.

In a National Bulletin issued as a Red Message today, the IMD said the Depression has intensified as a Deep Depression over Eastcentral and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal. It moved nearly westwards with a speed of 15 kmph during the last 6 hours and intensified into Cyclonic Storm ""Arnab"...
