New Delhi, May 31 -- The Delhi administration on Sunday resumed a demolition drive to remove unauthorized constructions encroaching on land earmarked for the widening of Road No. 320 in the Haiderpur area of Shalimar Bagh, following the Supreme Court's refusal to interfere with earlier orders of the Delhi High Court.

Officials said the exercise aims to clear encroachments from government-acquired land falling within the designated Right of Way (RoW) for a key road infrastructure project intended to ease traffic congestion and improve emergency access in north-west Delhi.

District Magistrate (Central-North) S.S. Parihar said the action was being carried out strictly in accordance with judicial directives.
