Panchkula, Aug. 5 -- Delhi, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh have surged ahead as North India's leaders in adopting hygienic menstrual protection for young women, according to data presented to the Rajya Sabha by the union Government.
Each of these states has surpassed the 90 per cent mark, far outpacing the national average of 79.2 per cent reported in the latest National Family Health Survey (NFHS-6).
Replying to an unstarred question in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Anupriya Patel said the NFHS-6 (2023-24) indicates that 79.2 per cent of women aged 15-24 years in the country use hygienic methods of menstrual protection.
