New Delhi, May 3 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday announced a new, time-bound and fully digital system for settling traffic challans, under which repeated offenders could face suspension of driving licences and defaulters may be barred from accessing vehicle-related services.
The Chief Minister said the revamped framework, aligned with amendments to the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, aims to strengthen road discipline, improve transparency and ensure that violators cannot evade penalties or directly approach courts without first following the prescribed grievance process.
