New Delhi, Jan. 5 -- The Supreme Court on Monday will deliver its verdict on the bail pleas of former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leader Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam and several other accused in a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) linked to the alleged "larger conspiracy" behind the February 2020 Delhi riots.
A Bench headed by Justice Aravind Kumar had reserved its verdict in December 2025 after hearing separate special leave petitions filed by the accused, challenging a September 2 order of the Delhi High Court that denied them bail.
A bench comprising Justices Aravind Kumar and NV Anjaria will also rule on the bail petitions filed by Gulfisha Fatima, Meeran Haider, Shifa Ur Rehman, Mohd Saleem Khan, ...
