Dharamshala, Feb. 8 -- A Delhi resident was found dead in a private hotel room here on Saturday.

Police have launched an investigation and sent the body for a postmortem, officials said on Sunday.

Kangra District Superintendent of Police Ashok Rattan told UNI that a young tourist, identified as Surender Pal Gahlot, a resident of Rohini, Delhi, had checked into a private hotel here along with his friend on Friday.

He said the hotel staff informed the police on Saturday morning that the tourist was not opening the door of his room. When the police arrived and opened the door, Gahlot was found lying inside the room under suspicious circumstances. He was rushed to Zonal Hospital, Dharamshala, where doctors declared him brought dead.
