New Delhi, Aug. 10 -- Delhi witnessed a spell of rain on Monday as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a Red Alert for the national capital, warning of intense weather activity accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds. The weather office cautioned that gusty winds could reach 60-80 kmph during severe weather episodes, raising the possibility of waterlogging, traffic disruption, and hazardous conditions for commuters.
The IMD has forecast that the weather will continue into Tuesday, with light to moderate rain likely across most parts of Delhi and moderate showers at a few places during the morning to noon period.
