New Delhi, May 8 -- Delhi Police's West District has launched a major community policing initiative titled "VIMUKT" aimed at ensuring drug-free and crime-free public parks across the district. The initiative is being carried out with active participation from RWAs, MWAs, local residents and designated "Park Mitras" who are assisting police in identifying and eliminating anti-social activities from parks.

As part of the campaign, a detailed survey of 265 parks was conducted to identify vulnerabilities such as dark spots, poor lighting, broken gates and unregulated entry and exit points. The issues are being addressed in coordination with civic agencies.
