New Delhi, Aug. 29 -- The Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi has notified the Delhi Fire Service (Amendment) Rules, 2026, bringing the city's fire-safety regulations in line with the updated Unified Building Bye-Laws (UBBL).
The amended rules, notified by the Lieutenant Governor under the Delhi Fire Service Act, 2007, seek to strengthen fire-prevention and safety standards in buildings across the national capital by introducing modern and mandatory safety requirements.
Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood said the safety and security of citizens remained the government's top priority and described the amendments as a step towards creating a safer and more resilient Delhi.
