New Delhi, Sept. 13 -- More than 41 tonnes of old clothes have been collected at 10 Arpan Centres set up at Delhi Metro stations, with the material being reused, upcycled or recycled, Delhi government officials said on Sunday.
As of Aug. 31, 3,940 people had deposited 41,181.59 kg of clothing at the centres, according to the Chief Minister's Office.
The Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital centre recorded the highest collection at 9,861.40 kg, followed by Shalimar Bagh with 9,761.03 kg. Centres at Punjabi Bagh West and Shahdara collected 6,534.98 kg and 6,386.08 kg, respectively.
Officials noted that the other centres are located at Mayur Vihar-I, Hauz Khas, Dwarka-Kakrola, Malviya Nagar, Lajpat Nagar and Mohan Estate. Five centres were launc...
