New Delhi, May 28 -- Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu reviewed relief operations and preventive measures in view of the prevailing heat wave in the national capital.
At the outset, the LG, in a review meeting underlined that special focus has to be ensured for providing support and relief to vulnerable sections, especially those, who are forced to come out in the peak heat period due to livelihood concerns.
He also emphasized that apart from this, animals and birds should be looked after.
The LG was informed that the Revenue Department has established several dedicated Cooling Zones across eight districts at various locations to provide immediate relief and support citizens, especially those from the vulnerable groups such...
