New Delhi, July 5 -- Delhi witnessed a swift surge in daytime temperatures on Sunday, as the maximum temperature settled at 38.6 degrees Celsius despite monsoon showers across the city.
An overcast sky covered the national capital region for most of the day, with scattered and intermittent rainfall recorded across several stations. Safdarjung, Delhi's base observatory, received 6.4 mm of rainfall between 11:30 am and 5:30 pm, falling under the 'light' rainfall category of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
