New Delhi, Oct. 11 -- The Delhi Government has approved a major reform in the state Handicraft Awards Scheme, tripling the prize money, expanding award categories, and updating nomenclature to align with cultural ethos and national standards.

This marks the first comprehensive overhaul in 12 years under the Promotion of Handicraft Plan Scheme.

Delhi Minister for Industries Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, "After more than a decade, this long-overdue reform recognizes the real worth of our artisans."He added that the revised awards are inclusive, enabling participation by more craftspeople, particularly women, young talent, and specially-abled artisans.
