New Delhi, July 15 -- The Delhi government has announced plans to introduce a dedicated women-only electric bus network comprising 56 special services across 28 high-footfall corridors in the national capital, to enhance the safety, comfort, and accessibility of public transport for women commuters.

The initiative, to be operated by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), will include 30 Ladies Special and 26 University Ladies Special (U-SPL) electric bus services catering primarily to working women and girl students during peak commuting hours.

Announcing the initiative, Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh said the dedicated network was designed to make public transport safer and more inclusive for women.
