New Delhi, Dec. 12 -- : The Delhi government has notified the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Act, 2025, aiming to curb arbitrary and excessive fee hikes by private schools in the capital.
Lieutenant-Governor V K Saxena issued the Gazette notification on Wednesday, bringing over 1,500 private schools under the new regulatory framework.
The Bill, passed in the Delhi Assembly on August 8 after extended debate, covers all private schools in the capital, a significant expansion from the earlier 1973 law, which applied to only around 300 schools, according to the government.
