New Delhi, May 5 -- In a major push to improve the business climate in the national capital, the Delhi government led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has secured a significant Ease of Doing Business reform in the Weights & Measures sector, which is part of Delhi's Deregulation Exercise 2.0, aimed to reduce compliance burden and rationalise regulatory frameworks across departments.
The approved reform, spearheaded by Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, amends the Delhi Legal Metrology (Enforcement) Rules, 2011 to remove the requirement of physical site inspection before grant of license and allow licences to be issued on a self-declaration basis.
