New Delhi, Jan. 25 -- The Delhi government has decided to to grant Special Government Remission (reduction in a convict's prison sentence) to eligible convicts on the occasion of Republic Day.
According to Delhi Home Minister Ashish Sood, the remission is going to be for the convicts sentenced by courts of criminal jurisdiction in Delhi and are lodged in the Central Jails in the national capital, or outside Delhi, who are undergoing sentence as on January 26, 2026. However, this is going to be based on prescribed conditions.
