New Delhi, May 23 -- A man accused of committing a double murder of a mother and son in Delhi's Govindpuri area was apprehended after a brief gun battle with police in which he sustained a gun wound in his leg.
According to police, the operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics team of South-East District Police after receiving inputs about the accused's location in the Ghati Park area.
The accused, identified as Saurabh, had been absconding since the incident.
Police said the team surrounded the area after intelligence inputs and asked the accused to surrender. However, instead of surrendering, he allegedly opened fire on the police team.
