New Delhi, Sept. 6 -- The Delhi government has taken a series of administrative measures aimed at improving efficiency and speeding up long-pending cases, with the Excise Department auctioning more than 2,000 seized vehicles and clearing a backlog of over 5,000 chemical analysis cases at its Excise Control Laboratory.
The measures, undertaken as part of the government's stated focus on improving governance, have generated more than Rs 5 crore in revenue, freed up space occupied by seized vehicles and reduced the laboratory's active backlog to zero.
